Trevanion House
Trevanion House provides holidays for up to 21 adults per week, with learning disabilities. Situated in Wadebridge, North Cornwall, they place particular emphasis on enabling visitors to make their own choices about holiday activities, and provide practical support - staff and minibuses - so that such preferences may be realised. Trevanion House is a registered care home with the facilities and standards of a small hotel, specifically for short term stays. Guests are met at either the local railway, airport or bus station, enabling many visitors to come unaccompanied.
Whilst advice and reminders about personal care matters form part of the basic care support provided by Trevanion House staff, less-able visitors requiring hands-on care may need to bring their own carer, familiar with their needs. However, this service is available subject to discussion and agreement to a supplement prior to booking. Ground floor rooms are adapted for people with mobility difficulties. The holiday is arranged - much like a traditional house party through discussion amongst the guests. Information on a wide range of possible activities is available so that everyone can contribute to decisions. Staff give support, advice and accompany the group on the daily minibus excursions. Open all year.
