GROUP LEADER 

 

 

 

Jane is leaving for university in September, so we urgently need a person or people to take her place

 

 

START DATE: Wednesday 22nd September 2010

 

 

We need a leader / leaders to run meetings every wednesday from 10:30 - 12:00

 

 

Can be permanent or temporary

 

Even if you can only do one day per month please contact us

 

 

The Ashford Lounge is just past South Kent College on Jemmett Road

 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

* Finding & booking activity taster sessions *

 

* Welcoming visitors *

 

* Keeping basic in / out accounts up to date *

 

* Taking peoples money for sessions *

 

* Working out & buying provisions, eg/ biscuits, pins *

 

* Discussing activities / directions, etc over the phone *

 

 

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

 

* Able to adapt plans & improvise *

 

* Patience *

 

* Willing to listen to peoples suggestions *

 

*Able to be in charge of a group of people ranging from 4 - 20*

 

* Responsible *

RECEPTIONIST NEEDED

 

               No previous experience required

 

 

                         JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

                         * answering phones *

                         * welcoming visitors*

* taking room hires*

* keeping noticeboard upto date*

* keeping a small library database upto date*

* co-ordinating a site diary * 

* dealing with workmen eg/ plumber *

* circulating information by email & phone *

 

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

 

* good telephone manner *

* friendly *

* be able to work on your own *

* basic computer skills *

(we can teach you how to use a database)

 

 

This is a part-time voluntary position that will start

mid - September

We can train you, but if you have knowledge of Microsoft Office Small Business Web Design Tool, this would be 

beneficial.

* Recieving information from various sources by email,

phone and face - to - face.

* Erasing non relevant information *

* Creating hyperlinks between websites *

* Inserting pictures *

* Keeping events and job / voluntary info up to date *

*General website maintainance *

* Willing to learn *

* Creative *

* Computer skills *

ASHFORD DISTRICT PARTENERSHIP BOARD (DPG)

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

* Introduce & run DPG meetings *

* Make sure meetings are fair eg/ everyone has a chance to speak *

* Encourage people to participate in discussions *

* Represent the DPG at Kent Partnership Board meetings *

*Voting on DPG & KPB decisions *

 

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

 

* Good at listening & finding out peoples views *

* Good at talking to people one-to-one and in groups *

* Able to represent others views at meetings even if they are different to your personal views *

 

Meetings you may be required to attend:

 

Kent Partnership Board (every 2 months)

District Partnership Board

Decision & Planning Group (for Ashford DPG)

Ashford LD Community Interest Company, board meetings

We need individuals or groups of people to help decorate the South School.

 

Painting is the main job, but if you have specific skills please let us know.

LEAFLET DELIVERERS 

 

Work as much or as little as you want to at times to suit you.

 

We need individuals or groups of people to spread the word about the Ashford Lounge activities at the South School.

 

We are running a series of activity taster sessions, leading to regular weekly sessions and would love these to benefit as many people as possible.

 

If you live in Ashford or the surrounding villages and would be willing to deliver leaflets in your area, we need you!

The Garden Group are currently in need of plant donations for the sensory garden they are working on at the South School.

 

Any plants you have spare would be most welcome whether you have one or lots. If you have any other garden materials such as wooden tubs please let us know.
